Nurturing their passion for scuba-diving, Rich and Laurie escaped Chicago’s cold winter in 2010, and for 3-months they worked remotely from a rented condominium in the Moon Bay complex in Key Largo. On a day of inclement weather, they ventured North on Overseas Highway for lunch in the nearby city of Homestead. After lunch, and before they returned to Key Largo, they found a realtor who showed them properties in the nearby community. The 4th property they looked at was a new townhouse in the Cali Greens development of Keys Gate. As they walked the property, Rich recalls Laurie asking him “Could you live here” and the rest is history. They purchased the townhouse and built their remaining working years around the requirement of individually communing back and forth from Chicago to Homestead. In 2020, Laurie retired, they sold their Chicago home, and now they share their 10-years of experiences, adventures, and discovery with visitors to and residents of tropical South Florida.
